Kapitel 1: Der kalte Stein

Talheim ist ein kleines Dorf. Es liegt versteckt zwischen hohen Bergen. Die Häuser in Talheim sind klein und aus Holz gebaut. Um das Dorf herum gibt es einen großen, grünen Wald und einen klaren Fluss. Die Menschen in Talheim sind einfach und glücklich. Sie arbeiten zusammen, sie essen zusammen und sie lachen zusammen. Das Leben in Talheim ist ruhig und friedlich.

In der Mitte des Dorfes gibt es einen besonderen Platz. Auf diesem Platz steht der Herzstein. Der Herzstein ist kein normaler Stein. Er ist sehr groß, größer als ein Mann. Seine Farbe ist weiß und er leuchtet. Normalerweise leuchtet er. Der Stein gibt dem Dorf Licht und Wärme. Wenn die Sonne untergeht, leuchtet der Herzstein hell. Es ist nie ganz dunkel in Talheim. Die Winter in den Bergen sind sehr kalt, aber in Talheim ist es immer warm. Der Herzstein macht das Dorf warm. Die Kinder spielen auch im Winter draußen. Die Erwachsenen sitzen am Abend zusammen auf dem Platz. Der Herzstein ist das Herz von Talheim.

Aber jetzt ist etwas anders.

Seit ein paar Wochen ist das Licht des Steins schwach. Es ist nicht mehr so hell wie früher. Die Wärme ist auch weniger geworden. Die Tage sind kälter. Die Nächte sind dunkler. Die Menschen in Talheim machen sich Sorgen. Sie stehen oft um den Stein herum und sehen ihn an. Ihre Gesichter sind traurig.

Der Stein ist kalt, sagt ein Mann. Er legt seine Hand auf den Herzstein. Seine Hand ist warm, der Stein ist kalt. Das ist nicht normal.

Ja, sagt eine Frau. Mein Haus ist auch kalt. Ich brauche mehr Holz für das Feuer. Ein kleines Mädchen weint. Mama, warum spielen wir nicht draußen? Ihre Mutter antwortet: Es ist zu kalt, mein Kind.
