Did you know that mountain gorillas are no longer threatened with extinction? The mountain gorillas in the Volcanoes National Park in north-west Rwanda are the only ape species whose population is increasing in the wild. Experts now estimate that there are more than 600 gorillas there, an achievement that is also thanks to the world-famous gorilla researcher Dian Fossey. One&Only Gorilla’s Nest has now announced a partnership with the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to give guests of the resort a unique behind-the-scenes look at the incredible commitment to protecting these majestic and endangered creatures first-hand.
