In the years developing Dawn Patrol from its early high school sketchbook beginnings to the graphic novel in progress today, she realized she needed more immersive research to tell this story with the authenticity it deserved. She began flying lessons in high school and continued both ventures throughout college. In 1998, she graduated from The University of the South (Sewanee) with a B.A. in History. She earned her FAA Pilot Certificates and Ratings through Multi-Engine Flight Instructor and Airline Transport Pilot. Her career has included flight instructing in single and multi-engine aircraft, Part 135 on-demand charter, and Part 91 corporate Learjets in the Lear 25D, Lear 31A, Lear 35A, Lear 45XR, and Lear 55. Currently, Julie-ann lives in Florida, and when she is not at her drawing board, she enjoys keeping road-worthy a collection of grumpy antique vehicles, including a two-stroke racing motorcycle named "Astyrfel." Her current projects include: publishing the first two chapters of the Dawn Patrol graphic novel, working on fractal art, and writing the prequel to this tale, which, after this current publishing adventure, is now a possibility.weniger sehen
