After a life-long interest in twentieth century naval history, especially that of dreadnought battleships and battle cruisers, he wrote The Battle Cruiser Hindenburg, his first novel. Although a work of fiction, he sought to include a high level of detail to make it both a credible and informative tale. Such detail required much research, indeed he considers that almost every page includes something which he had to explore in depth. Unsure of its appeal, he originally had the book 'privately printed' and copies given to all those who knew he was writing it. Their enthusiastic feedback was the key factor in deciding to have it published.weniger sehen
