Although coming from a family with an inkling for the arts in all its manifestations, his primary orientation was toward the sciences. He completed his electronics engineering studies and a programming degree at the dawn of the computer era. However, his activities in the field of science did not stop his urge for the arts such as playing guitar, painting, and writing poetry. Fluent in Spanish, Italian, and English, he published a book of poetry in Spanish in 1997, receiving a positive critique from the local media. At the same time, he began his journey into the science fiction genre.
