I earned a BS degree in Agricultural Biochemistry and a 2nd lieutenant's commission in the US Army at Purdue University in 1957. I earned an MD degree at Indiana University in 1961. I served three years on active duty in the US Army in the Medical Corps at Fort Knox and Fort Ord. I was a Family Physician in a small town in Idaho and in California near Los Angeles.
