I became a 39-year-old widow and single mother of two daughters, ages 14 and 10. I had known “of” God all my life but not until His love brought me through to the other side of grief did I realize the peace and joy that comes by having an intimate relationship with Him and His Son, Jesus Christ.
My Christian journey soared once I realized that I needed to read and study the Bible on a daily basis. How would I ever get to know Him better if I didn’t know His Word? I was fortunate to have taken a two-year Bible study with my then preacher and teacher, Pastor Ed Groff. He is so passionate about God, Jesus Christ and His Word and I learned so much. I am now a certified lay speaker with the United Methodist Church. I have the privilege of filling the pulpit for vacationing pastors. In 2008, I began a public speaking ministry and have had the joy of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with hundreds of people.
In 2004 I remarried. My husband, Joe Hurlburt, is a kind and gentle man of God. I will spend my lifetime trying to repay the love and support he has given me. My ministry may not have come to fruition if not for the gentle shoves he gave me along the way. Joe recently retired and we are looking forward to being in ministry together. We have six amazing daughters, three tremendous son-in-laws, a smart, handsome grandson and an ornery, adorable granddaughter – and hopes of many more. Joe and I feel so blessed with the family God has given us. Life gets better and better with Him in the center.weniger sehen
