Burkholder was born on a farm in southern Indiana, along with six siblings. Most of the people on the “knobs” raised animals and farm produce for the market. George and Anna Hollkamp, parents, instilled a strong faith life and work ethic in their children. Family life was always blessed by the many nieces and nephews while growing up. Her husband, Bob was in the Air Force serving for 20 years. During their many moves, an officer once asked what kind of farm she grew up on and her response was “a general farm;” guess he thought they raised little “generals!” They are the parents of four children and twelve grandchildren at the moment…the wonderful blessings of their marriage and great family life.weniger sehen
