Born at Kamphele village in Chama [Chamanyavyose] District, Muchinga Province of Zambia, Professor Yizenge A. Chondoka went to Sitwe and Chama Primary Schools in the district. He completed secondary education at Lundazi Secondary School in 1970. He holds a diploma in secondary teaching from Kwame Nkrumah Teachers College; BA (Ed) and MA in history from the University of Zambia (UNZA); and a PhD from the University of Toronto in Canada. He joined the University of Zambia in 1985 and retired in December 2007. Before retiring, he taught history at Pennsylvania State University in the USA in the fall of 2007. In March 2008, he joined the Zambian Open University (ZAOU) where he is currently the dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. He is an author of many history books. He is married to Chapasi Justina Ngoyi Chondoka and together have five children: Jodi, Yizenge, Thokozile, Chapasi, and Chomola.
Frackson F. Bota
Born at Dowoko village, Chief Muyombe in Mafinga District, Muchinga Province of Zambia, he went to Katanga Primary School in Muyombe and Isoka Secondary School in Isoka in the Province. After completing school, he trained as a Zambia enrolled nurse at Mwami Adventist Hospital School of Nursing in Chipata, Zambia. Thereafter, Mr. Bota trained as an ophthalmic nurse in Tanzania. He is also trained in basic laboratory techniques and as a psychosocial counselor. He is married to Fostina Nyimbiri Bota and together have four children: Lusungu, Sekelani, Beyani, and Temwani. Mr. Bota is an excellent Tumbuka traditional historian and contributed immensely to field research for this book. He is retired and lives on his farm in Chipata.weniger sehen
