I started writing simple short stories in 2001 as a therapy to help me heal from the disaster of my relapse back into active alcoholism during which I lost everything I ever help important.
As the years passed and my recovery became stronger, I continued to write journals of my daily progress. It was during my journal writing when certain characters and scenes became clearer to me. I wrote what came to me and most often put these few sentences into files I would open months, or even years later to develop more fully as my writing skills continued to mature.
But never once did I envision those first few sentences would lead to a manuscript interwoven with all the short stories, characters, and poems which my imagination began to create to cure my many wounds. I completed this book to prove to those who need a word of encouragement that hope always exists if you believe in something greater than yourself.
When I did - it made all the difference.
