As a teenager, Jim studied for two summers with the famous Charleston artist William Halsey. While at the U. of Florida, Jim stayed for three summers, studying art The Ringling School of Art.
His other creative interest was poetry. From 1998 to 2006, his poems were published in 8 poetry anthologies by the International Library of Poetry, Nobel House and National Library of Poetry. He received the National Choice Awar from the Library of Congress.
On his active side of life he liked racing – motorcycles, cars, ocean sailboats, and flying his own airplane. He joined his father at his farm in breeding American Saddle bred and Arabian horses.
Personally, he had a few wives and three children.
Life took a dramatic turn while living in Benicia, California. He unexpectedly had triple bypass surgery. But what followed to help his recovery was his renewed interest in politics and writing. That combination led to five years of political columns in the Benicia Herald and a few years in the Vallejo Times Herald.weniger sehen
