Carol Seefeldt and Lois Yellowthunder began their collaboration at the Washington County Government Center where Carol was Supervisor of the Family Based Services Unit and Lois was the Human Services Planner. Before long, the collaboration had extended to the natural as well as social worlds. Carol’s camera has documented the powerful connections between humans and the natural rhythms of life: morning to evening, youth to old age, summer to winter, life to death and rebirth. As an anthropologist, Lois is familiar with the rituals developed in many cultures to celebrate these connections and to integrate individuals into these rhythmic cycles. From their combined perspectives of social welfare and anthropology, Carol and Lois appreciated the critical importance of these connections for physical, mental and spiritual health. Early twenty-first century life is a time of fragmentation and estrangement for many people from these sources of well being.weniger sehen
