Instructing others in a practical manner, she communicates relevant information for true understanding and growth. Her poems, inspirational stories, and life testimony have helped people discover hope, renewal, and restoration through Jesus Christ.
In addition to serving as a classroom teacher, a literacy coach, a full-time college instructor, and a performing arts director, Joyce has presented literacy workshops and providing teacher training for the last 10 years, teaching on multiple subjects, helping children and adults become better writers and helping classroom teachers become effective teachers of writing. In her role as the Children's Church minister at Christ Temple Global Ministries in Muncie, IN, Joyce mentored youth of all ages and was dedicated to helping children grow, know and serve Jesus. Along with her husband, who is also an educator, they continue to help children to develop assets that enable them to live successful, Christ-like lives. Both Joyce and her husband Derrick, are answering the call of leadership and are currently serving in the field of education as administrators.
Through writing and spending quiet time with God—in spite of life’s hectic pace—Joyce has discovered peace, freedom, healing and joy! Even though she suffered physical, sexual, and emotional abuse as a child, tremendous sadness after suddenly losing a 14-year old brother as a young adult, and the disappointment and pain of a failed first marriage, Joyce lives a victorious and exuberant life! She believes that she was created to give God praise and confesses that this is the key to keeping the enemy under her feet. Sharing her life experiences in a down-to-earth manner is how Joyce helps others apply in their own lives what God has taught her.
Refusing to stumble over obstacles behind her, choosing instead to focus on the promises of God’s Word, Joyce is an extraordinary testimony of how God can rescue a person drowning in sin and despite their past, give them a purpose that makes a positive difference their own life and in the lives of others. She is evidence of God’s abundant grace, undeserving mercy, unconditional love and encouraging faithfulness!
Joyce earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University, and a Master’s degree in Education and Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. Joyce and her husband Derrick have been married for 11 years, and they are the parents of four young children. They enjoy shopping for bargains, traveling and playing video games with their children, sharing a good book, and texting each other love notes. Joyce and Derrick make their home in Arizona.weniger sehen
