Having been born and raised on the eastside of Cleveland, Ohio, going against all odds to embark upon a life of overcoming one obstacle after another, it is no surprise that his labor of love would come to fruition. It is through his "flawed" perspective that he writes his poetry and expresses points of view that often so many are apprehensive to share. The poems that W.A. writes vary over an array of topics, venturing through love, life, and faith. Each piece shares common thought by way of creative wordplay and witty outtakes. Poems such as “Scared to Succeed”, that express the overlooked fear of success, and “I’m Sorry”, serving up an apology for past love mishaps, break open the hard coating of standard male bravado, exposing the reality that many people face but are unwilling to make known to others. It is with great courage and a candid voice that W.A. Gordon breaks new ground, with a style that is sure to draw in readers of all sorts with his fresh approach, opening closed ears and eyes with an artistic technique that can be compared to few if any at all.
