As a painter, he has worked extensively in Visual Arts creating different exhibitions in Rome, Rimini, Athens, Stockholm, Mykonos, and Prague. In 1987 he originated, researched, and developed Ritual Theatre, a system based upon the underlying common features of Ancient Greek Tragedy and the Japanese No and Kabuki. In 1996 he founded ‘Artemision,’ a nongovernmental Institute that conducts research, promotes lectures, organizes spiritual journeys and carries on related activities. He subsequently served as Director of ‘Centre Olon’ - an organization that deals with cultural, environmental, social and spiritual themes - and led the development of its seminars, cross-cultural studies, experimental research, and other educational programs.
During the last two decades of the 20th century, J.B.Valbere has conveyed his cultural knowledge through teaching and experiential work. His career as an independent scholar spans fields as diverse as, spirituality and culture, environment and politics, transpersonal psychology and art. Perhaps his most significant contribution has been his pivotal role in bridging the worlds of ancient Greece, and the contemporary West through his fieldwork and research, experimentation, and writings. Furthermore, by looking closely into the religious landscape of the Far East, he made several long sojourns in Asia drawing parallels between the cultural heritage of Greece, China, India, and Japan.
Believing that the essence of Arcadia can ever bring a most valuable contribution to the welfare of humanity and the peace of the world, J.B.Valbere has devoted the last ten years of his professional life to the promotion of the Arcadian Ideal. With his book “The Secrets of the Arcadian Brotherhood” and “The Philosophy and History of Arcadianism,” he started the movement that is returning Arcadia to the spiritual life of peoples throughout the planet. His publications include theatre plays, poems, books, philosophical essays and more than 80 articles in various Hellenic magazines. Furthermore, the 16 books with multiple authors in which he participated have drawn the attention of thousand peoples opening the gates to a world that is both new and infinitely ancient. Nowadays he lives in Athens and continues his research into the mystical and primeval world of prehistory by giving lectures and conducting study circles and seminars in Greece and abroad.weniger sehen
