I sit behind a typewriter composing poems-to-order for passersby. Having waitressed for over 20 years, I am unabashedly sentimental about the iconic green guest check. People offer a word or phrase as a title, and I craft a poem on the spot. The poem customer receives the green Guest Copy and I keep the yellow carbon Kitchen Copy. On Kauai I am known as The Short Order Poet.I love words and human beings and the electricity traveling between us when we are curious and open to the unknown.I believe that poetry heals the brokenest of hearts - and when read aloud- even more so.I am committed to sharing poetry that makes you a more attentive observer, listener and friend.Download "Short Order Poems" or visit ShortOrderPoet.com to request a personalized poem.
