I was born in Dublin, Ireland. Upon finishing high school I joined the U.S. Navy in 1977 and served honorably for 26 years. While stationed in San Diego, Ca. I learned to sail at Fiddlers Cove in 1...mehr sehenI was born in Dublin, Ireland. Upon finishing high school I joined the U.S. Navy in 1977 and served honorably for 26 years. While stationed in San Diego, Ca. I learned to sail at Fiddlers Cove in 1996. I retired from the Navy in 2003 and began teaching youth sailing for the Navy at Rainbow Bay Marina, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in 2005. I am inspired by the youth I teach watching them take themselves on with greater challenges in sailing. I know they will also take themselves on more in their own lives as a result of the life skills they have learned through sailing.Sailing is my passion, however, I am more passionate teaching and learning from my students. It is my desire to inspire other youth to want to learn to sail and take advantage of the benefits of sailing, no matter what community they live in. I also want to bring to the sailor's attention the plight of our oceans. Our youth are our future and they have the creativity within them to create solutions to the man made fiasco facing our beautiful oceans.weniger sehen
