I would write little personal stories while I was in grade school. At least one other person ejoyed them, anyway. She would tell me the stories were good, but she was my friend. She was supposed to say that. Right?
Fast forward to my college days, and I looked into seriously writing books. I thought I would start with children's stories. After all, that was the envelope I received in the mail, and for a small fee, they were going to teach me all about writing for children. Well, at some point I ran out of money, and instruction too. No learning how to write stories here without funds!
I started seriously writing poetry in college too. I had a whole manilla folder of it! But as good as others told me I was...more than just that one friend this time...my heart was not in poetry. I just wouldn't be satisfied until a book was born out of me!
So now I have children, from six to thirteen, and they all love to read, like me. The problem is: they read fast! They can clear a 250 page book in one evening, and this includes the six year old! So what does this old Texan do on the verge of a mid life crisis? She writes a book...and prays her children like it.
But I've decided I want to write more than children's books. I have lots of imagination in me, and I want to share it all with the world...in story form that is. However, I'm not quite a professional yet, so I'll need your help. Feel free to comment, review, anything you deem necessary to let me know how you're enjoying my works, that is, if you're enjoying my works. Tell me what you think; what I need to change; or let me know it was just right. I've been waiting a long time to fulfill my dream of spending my days writing, and nothing gives me more delight than to entertain you to the best of my abilities!
My first attempt at being an author is Laila's Tooth Travesty. It's a cute story for children...and maybe some parents! You can find it here: http://tinyurl.com/b2u22y3 Just copy and the link and paste it in your browser.
