"How did I start writing? A few years ago...a bedtime story to my two sons. Anything to get them to settle. I'm not sure where the story came from but I borrowed a name from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Well that had to change. Although maybe my short story read aloud to the class by my English teacher was the seed...that really was a long time ago. After the ritual, sleepy heads nodded off onto the pillow. Well that must have been an exciting story. Years later came the wishes for me to continue the story and that I "should write a story". The compulsion and the ideas grew. It was my holiday reading that spurred me to lift the pen. A well known author's work was so poor I thought, well, if I can least do as well then it couldn't so bad? Well maybe. But it got me going and there are plenty of authors to aspire to.
So, my first fiction novel Zeebel's Landing, will be joined by a sequel. I've made a start although it is parked as I complete short-term projects. Perejilla, a short play is available on Kindle and Smashwords as an eBook. Hopefully a paperback version will follow. I'm in the middle of working on a short novel, set in Manchester called Stevie and Me. It's an edgy, dark story for the over 18's. More about that nearer completion.
