Zyon Smiley is a 1987 graduate of Dover High School (Delaware). He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Communications from Brigham Young University (BYU), while earning an Air Force Commission as a United States Air Force Officer in 1994. After nearly four years of active duty in military service as a Public Affairs Officer and a Logistics Officer, Smiley separated from the military and settled in Savannah, Georgia to pursue a high school teaching career. He earned his Teaching Certificate in Broadfield Social Science from a joint program at Savannah State University and Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2001. Currently, he has nine years experience teaching social studies at Sol. C. Johnson High School in Savannah. He also serves as a staff writer for The Savannah Tribune, a local weekly newspaper. He has covered and written numerous news stories for the tribune over the last 11 years. He’s the author of one other book of poetry entitled Thoughts of a Poet.weniger sehen
