JoAnn is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) and attended the Institute of Children's Literature. Academic majors are journalism and literature. Avid reading of many genres is a relaxing comfort zone for her. Creating a final manuscript brings dreams to the surface. A writing enthusiast since age 8, she has enjoyed publication in periodicals, magazines, and newspapers. Nostalgic stories, children's and YA novels are favorite writing genres. Fun, creative reading and writing for Levels 1-6 and camp design are specialties when grandchildren attend Camp Mimi in her home. Time spent with youth is core quality.
