Smith University, M.A from Appalachian State University and his Administration Certificate from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. He is an educator with over thirty-three years of experience, national trainer and a historian. He is currently a Principal with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System.
As a young boy he was fascinated by the frontiersman with his first hero being Davy Crockett. Through his research he discovered the Maroons and their incredible battle at Fort Negro.
Winner of the Wachovia Principal of the year award in 2006 and runner-up in 2004; and Greater Alliance of Black School Educators’ Principal of the Year (2004). Board Member at Winthrop College and member of Johnson C. Smith Continuing Education Program. Co-wrote article, Using Action Research to Solve School Problems, published in Proceedings, Fourteenth National HBCU Faculty Development Symposium, Enhancing Quality Through Engaged Assessment & Research (2007). In 2003, the Department of Education invited him to the Rose Garden and Oval Office in D.C. Included in Who’s Who Among Businesses and Executives and Who’s Who In American Education.
