She thought the subject could have been written with a bit of flair, humor and satire as well as just the boring facts, and she’s hoping she has succeeded in presenting her subject matter in a more interesting light. Her first book, Appalachian Daughter, was written for her grandchildren. This one was written because the retired newspaper writer loved her characters so much while they lived.
