Ornella Umubyeyi is residing in North Carolina where she is currently working on her doctorate. She has obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion and Leadership at Ripon College. Later went to obtain her Masters of Arts in Pastoral Care and counseling at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Chicago. She was ordained to the work of the pastor’s office in 2012 She is also a motivational speaker who inspires and challenges people from all walks of life to be better so they can better the world they live in. Ornella is also known for her spoken words on Youtube.
Other than being a pastor, Ornella is known as a philanthropist, a certified life coach, a published author and an entrepreneur. She founded Soul Survivors International, a non-profit organization based both in the US and in Burundi after seeing the need of education and care for young teenagers on the street of Bujumbura. She has been involved in different community services projects both in Rwanda and Burundi.
She’s an author of
“Life beyond Sight: Existing not Living” a Christian/inspirational book
published in the US, in 2010. She published her second book in the
summer 2012 called: "Ibintu 7 biranga Umukristo".
She received the Myrtle Saylor Speer Award for her contribution to the expansion of the vision of women in ministry and theological scholarships from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary. She has also won several awards such as; CYRWA Award in 2011 from Imbuto Foundation by the First Lady of Rwanda Jeannette Kagame, for her work toward orphans and street children, Activist of the month (by the Teen Voice Magazine)in 2009 in Boston, Peace Maker Award for intentions, effort, and achievement toward realizing peace and Justice in the world in 2007. She has produced two documentaries with one she directed and produced in Accra, Ghana. Ornella has been blessed to preach from Canada to Belgium, to India and many other places around the globe while transcending age, color and denominational background.
She has also a certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education at Genesis Health System hospital in Iowa.weniger sehen
