Greetings. I was born in Venezuela back in 1970 because my parents had emigrated there from Portugal. At age 7 my family moved back to Portugal and at age 9 we moved to America. There I ended up wo...mehr sehenGreetings. I was born in Venezuela back in 1970 because my parents had emigrated there from Portugal. At age 7 my family moved back to Portugal and at age 9 we moved to America. There I ended up working as an automotive technician, as an archaeologist and lastly as a teacher of English as a Second Language, among other jobs. I have a bachelors degree in Anthropology and a masters degree in TESL. I always lived, worked and studied in Rhode Island. In 2011, I decided to move to Portugal for good. Here, I worked as a handyman until ALS robbed me of my arms beginning in September 2015. But not before I accomplished a feat I’d always dreamed of; I published my first book. I finished writing it watching fasciculations destroying my shoulder. Now I’m currently writing my second one. I used software called Camera Mouse to write the first two chapters and am using the Dynavox PC Eye device to write the rest of the book. Both allow me to control my computer with my eyes. I’m still alive; so I’m still kicking. I remain calm and hopeful that a cure will soon be discovered. Thus, I feel I have a lot more living to do.
