She has published lots of stories in literary magazines, (including Salamander and The Yalobusha Review), is the author of a Grub Street writing column entitled "Pep Talk", and has won multiple literary awards. She was both an English and special needs teacher in the UK and taught writing courses at Grub Street in Boston, where she has also worked as a confidence coach.
