A U.S. Army veteran with extensive experience in the Middle East, he reads, writes, and speaks fluent Arabic. The author currently resides in the high desert north of Santa Fe, New Mexico. His four children and eight grandchildren live in California and Minnesota. He and his wife, Katie, watch over a small menagerie of dogs, cats, and chickens.
